Synopsis
Terry is a legend in Mexico. He was a Navy Seal, a Hells Angel, and the first person to ride a giant manta ray. For twenty years, a two ton animal named Willy, invited Terry onto his back and together they explored the underwater world. In the wake of a tragic manta massacre, Terry is mounting one last expedition to a remote island to search for his friend WIlly. This film, in the tradition of Grizzly Man, My Octopus Teacher, and The Cove, explores how humans and animals relate, both through violence and friendship. Terry’s search for his old friend reveals a highly intelligent species, a little seen underwater kingdom, and the fascinating duality of violence and kinship that underpins life on Earth.
